Just for a moment, think about what you would be if you were : a) what you ate and b) what you wore. I’m assuming that both answers will (in most cases) be grim. As someone with fashion and sustainability constantly on my mind, i think it is truly important to transfer one’s core values into their fashion and lifestyle. Above are some delightful designs via BOA’s hand-made, organic ‘Pamuk’ collection. This Istanbul-based brand is gaining global appeal (thus it is also relevant to all of us at st andrews), and embraces eclectic worldly styles as well as sustainability! Instead of describing them more, i will let you all look them up for yourselves on the internets. Still not convinced? I’m going to go off on a little tangent and leave you with some food for thought… (more…)

I know this is a serious throwback, however i have recently come across many people who have yet to encounter the guilty pleasures derived from Mobb Deep’s Bob Marley remixes, and who, upon discovery were overjoyed (maybe that was an overstatement)…anyways, If you know them, this post is irrelevant. If you dont, i have attached a song that will hopefully spice (more…)
By way of Olive, I’ve come to know Jacques Green recently. He is a very talented producer from Montreal who is starting to get a lot of airplay. As such, he was on Rinse.fm a couple of weeks ago and his performance is definitely worth checking out. His mixing isn’t perfect, but his song selection is exceptional. Give it a listen and leave a comment if you like it.

Spring (or British summer) is here at last! Of all of the most visible spring trends, so far my favorite is the revival of the vintage peter pan collar. On a blouse, tee shirt, or dress, this lovely soft edge gives your outfit a (more…)

They’re back! After what’s felt like a lifetime, Justice returns with the first single from their yet-unnamed follow up to their 2007 debut album, †. Go pick it up immediately! Its a wonderful mishmash of Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon style psychadelia and the new hipster disco craze old school funk.

Just a quick one to share SebsatiAn’s triumphant return for Ed Banger records. Honestly couldn’t get enough of the french label this time last year (was Breakbot, Breakbot, Breakbot in my flat) and now it seems Busy P’s boyo has got right back on it.
This track goes in a slightly different direction from what I’ve come to expect of SebastiAn (always seem to think of ‘Motor’ or ‘H.A.L’ – real headaches ‘bangers’) but that’s no bad thing. Am SO enjoying playing this loud in the car, windows open, sun out…
Happy spring holidays all.

No, not Wills and Kate. I am talking about a match made in musical heaven. Two of my favourite producers, Burial and Four Tet have teamed up with arguably the best vocalist of our generation, Thom Yorke.
I apologise for the quality of these two tracks, but they are as yet unreleased, so a radio rip suffices for the moment.
Listen for yourselves, just magic.
The otherside of the jump is the flip side to this track, Ego. Beautiful. (more…)

First, The Fall is one of the best films I have ever seen. Second, it is definitely the most under-hyped film of the century. If you watch it, you will understand that there is no way for me to even begin to describe it, however I think it can be best described as ‘an aesthetic wet dream’. Kind of. In any event, please watch it! The Fall is for lovers of photography, aesthetically pleasing cinematography, house of flying daggers, inception, (more…)
