Just for a moment, think about what you would be if you were : a) what you ate and b) what you wore. I’m assuming that both answers will (in most cases) be grim. As someone with fashion and sustainability constantly on my mind, i think it is truly important to transfer one’s core values into their fashion and lifestyle. Above are some delightful designs via BOA’s hand-made, organic ‘Pamuk’ collection. This Istanbul-based brand is gaining global appeal (thus it is also relevant to all of us at st andrews), and embraces eclectic worldly styles as well as sustainability! Instead of describing them more, i will let you all look them up for yourselves on the internets. Still not convinced? I’m going to go off on a little tangent and leave you with some food for thought… Continue reading

Spring (or British summer) is here at last! Of all of the most visible spring trends, so far my favorite is the revival of the vintage peter pan collar. On a blouse, tee shirt, or dress, this lovely soft edge gives your outfit a Continue reading

Goodbye, Winter by celeste

In Scotland, summer seems eons away. At London Fashion Week summer is right around the bend. Nicely Suited by celeste

For the upcoming new Spring and Summer seasons, i am extremely attracted to Milan-based designer Corneliani’s collection, themed as “From the Safari to the Polo match.“. While that does hint at the pretentious, the men’s collection is a gorgeous Italian mix of creamy whites, layers, and a variety of subdued colors that fit perfectly with the rest of the non-abrasive color scheme. There is also i nice variety of Continue reading

Pleat Treats by celeste

In browsing through the internets for the up and coming designers of the hastily approaching new year, i came across London based designer, and former textile designer, Felicity Brown. While her spring/summer collection for 2011 is not exactly to be worn casually, it is an extremely innovative and clever collection of eye candy that places emphasis on color, volume, and movement!
