If you’ve listened to Sleigh Bells any, you know of their sonic rampage which they in lockstep unleash on the masses. They’ve pumped the reverb up to 11 and haven’t looked back. Continue reading

I hope all of our devoted readers are having the most wonderful of winter vacations. Most of you are home(while a few others are still stuck in Heathrow/JFK) sitting by the fire while wrapped in a blanket, but sadly short of music. To brighten up your day here’s a lovely remix of “Home” by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. Enjoy!

Welly Ball by Olive

Every year a positive plethora of Wellington-clad ladies and gentlemen from St Andrews and other well known drinking institutions come to Kinkell Byre for a night of – well… ridiculousness. Continue reading

I know we usually stick to electro here on Sa.ws, but every so often a gem comes around which must be heard far and loud. A little bit blues, a little bit punk, and a whole lot of a blazing rock, I give you Los. Continue reading

Welcome Home by Dan

First, an apology: At SaintAndre.ws we strive to keep up to date as much as we possibly can. Unfortunately, we all are students and are subject to deadlines and busy periods throughout the year. Rest assured, though, we are back and we’re not going anywhere.

Now, to the fun stuff:

Hope everyone’s break was amazing and all that it could be. A lot of people have for the most part, gotten over the fashion shows (scars healing, friendships mending, hangovers finally susbising etc) but there is one thing thats pretty much universally asked: where can we get the music? Well my friends, the time has come to talk of just that. Below is the music from both FS and DW with direct download links. Enjoy this beautiful ear candy and next time someone tells you St. Andrews doesn’t have a music scene, you show them these.

Don’t Walk Launch by Katie

So last night The Vic got a full makeover: lights strung up, the cabin turned into VIP only, and the really cool large prints of the photos from the first Don’t Walk photo shoot, well lit and on display throughout the venue. It was the perfect size venue for this exclusive event, and the general vibe was that everyone was there to drink, see the models, and see the theme that was unveiled for their ad campaign. The African safari thing looks great in the photos, but would have been cool to see the models dressed up at the launch, or maybe just a more unique theme (Bongo Ball, Refet Afrique…). In the VIP area there was no shortage of free shots of sambuca and models walking around with bottles of sourz to pour down people’s throats, and there were great deals on unique cocktail variations, named after some of the models, at both bars. People were definitely there to dance, and the music was great aside from technical problems midway through the night, but nobody seemed to care. It definitely felt like they wanted it to feel like an exclusive event, with all the windows on the front doors covered and shut, as with the door to the VIP section. But props to the committee for being able to makeover The Vic to make it feel that exclusive and edgy. It was a great night overall, and in my opinion might have ended a bit too soon, nobody seemed to want to leave when the lights started flashing, and I guess there weren’t enough Thursday night after parties since hoards of people just stood around outside The Vic after finally being ushered out. The bar is now officially set for all subsequent fashion show launch parties. Can’t wait to see all the pictures from the Don’t Walk Create photo booth, after all drunk kids love having their picture taken.
