Albino never looked so good by Sara

Lislie Yeung is currently pursuing her MA at the London College of Fashion after completing her BA in womenswear at Parsons school of design in New York city. I came upon her work while looking through NOT JUST A LABEL and soon feel in love with Lislie Yeung’s light, elegant and beautifully crafted shoes from her ‘Albino’ line. Lislie Yeung is a free lance designer right now, but I’d keep a eye on her, she has quite a talent! Yeung’s designs can be found at NJAL as well as at London College of Fashion’s MA_STERS site.

Check out this small shoe collection from the Horse! It is simple, but the shoes styles are on point and perfect for the spring. Also the gallery they have is pretty neat.

We hope you are enjoying the holidays, and we thought we’d give you a little glitz to think about while you’re sitting on the sofa. These Prada chandelier shoes are just the type of accessory that dominates an outfit. Completely and entirely adventurous. Just the type of shoe you’d want to be wearing as you stagger into 2010, champagne glass in hand.

I’m Dreaming of A Floral Christmas by Elise

This blizzard several of our writers are experiencing in the DC area right now is very similar to the one we got hit with back in 1996. It’s one of the defining memories of my childhood, but it’s not the only thing I remember from that time. Platform sandals were one of the coolest things from the 90’s, were they not? And as we all know, platform shoes of many kinds are one of the most fun current trends (fun for your look not fun for your feet). Sitting here in 20 something inches of snow, I’m thinking floral Miu Miu’s. I came across a simpler version of the jeweled pump in Elle UK and ran looking for the rest of Miu Miu’s S/S ’10 collection. It’s the chunkiness that makes me think of 1996, and that almost too obvious springtime pattern. Elle UK claimed that after several years building up the height and platform and extremities of shoe trends, it might be time for designers to scale down their collections to get rid of platforms and include kitten heels and more flats. Well as Miu Miu has exhibited, spring is just around the corner. And this spring is bringing chunkier, taller, and more statement making shoes than ever. Come on, Elle UK shoe people, the parties not over yet!

Shoes Please, but nothing else Proenza Schouler by Sara

I was recently checking out the Urban Outfitters Blog, a fabulous source of fashion information might I add, and I came upon this picture of a stunning purple shoe. I followed the link to Proenza Schouler‘s Spring09 collection and was sorely disappointed. Abstract sleeves on white, skinny legged jumpsuits with oddly, not tastefully, placed and obvious zippers. Ill fitted leather wear, from dresses to crop tops, that were just not styled well for being that material. I mean I have rarely seen leather done well in a classic way, and this was not one of those times. Needless to say, I am still in love with her shoes!

More awesome Proenza Schouler designs… not the clothes I was bashing, don’t worry. I wouldn’t lead you astray lovely saintandre.ws readers! But if you would like to check out the line for yourself, please visit Proenza Schouler’s Spring09 page.
