Just for a moment, think about what you would be if you were : a) what you ate and b) what you wore. I’m assuming that both answers will (in most cases) be grim. As someone with fashion and sustainability constantly on my mind, i think it is truly important to transfer one’s core values into their fashion and lifestyle. Above are some delightful designs via BOA’s hand-made, organic ‘Pamuk’ collection. This Istanbul-based brand is gaining global appeal (thus it is also relevant to all of us at st andrews), and embraces eclectic worldly styles as well as sustainability! Instead of describing them more, i will let you all look them up for yourselves on the internets. Still not convinced? I’m going to go off on a little tangent and leave you with some food for thought… Continue reading

I know this is a serious throwback, however i have recently come across many people who have yet to encounter the guilty pleasures derived from Mobb Deep’s Bob Marley remixes, and who, upon discovery were overjoyed (maybe that was an overstatement)…anyways, If you know them, this post is irrelevant. If you dont, i have attached a song that will hopefully spice Continue reading

Spring (or British summer) is here at last! Of all of the most visible spring trends, so far my favorite is the revival of the vintage peter pan collar. On a blouse, tee shirt, or dress, this lovely soft edge gives your outfit a Continue reading
First, The Fall is one of the best films I have ever seen. Second, it is definitely the most under-hyped film of the century. If you watch it, you will understand that there is no way for me to even begin to describe it, however I think it can be best described as ‘an aesthetic wet dream’. Kind of. In any event, please watch it! The Fall is for lovers of photography, aesthetically pleasing cinematography, house of flying daggers, inception, Continue reading

Oh dear, looks like Dame Vivienne Westwood has been ruffling some more feathers this week… She is quoted as saying that “I would have loved to have dressed Kate Middleton but I have to wait until she kind of catches up a bit somewhere with style.” Continue reading

In Scotland, summer seems eons away. At London Fashion Week summer is right around the bend. Color is definitely in store for the upcoming months, ergo this brilliant photo from the Pam Hogg Catwalk Show in London! Keep your eyes peeled not only for the photos from the London, Paris, and New York Fashion weeks, but also for the highly anticipated and quickly approaching St Andrews fashion events Continue reading

Anyone care for a shag? Yes, the vest does look a bit like the product of a battle against home furnishings, or maybe a llama; however, when it comes to vests, shag provides a lovely and ultimately fun alternative to the standard vest of fur, or dare I say…fleece? In any event, although it is a moderate faux pas, Continue reading

Here’s a lesson in hipster/preppy dressing from the nice lads from The Drums.
In addition to nice clothes (but some rather questionable cool-kid awkward dancing) you get to listen to some sweet lyrics too.
Good news all round I say.
