Just a quick one to share SebsatiAn’s triumphant return for Ed Banger records. Honestly couldn’t get enough of the french label this time last year (was Breakbot, Breakbot, Breakbot in my flat) and now it seems Busy P’s boyo has got right back on it.
This track goes in a slightly different direction from what I’ve come to expect of SebastiAn (always seem to think of ‘Motor’ or ‘H.A.L’ – real headaches ‘bangers’) but that’s no bad thing. Am SO enjoying playing this loud in the car, windows open, sun out…

Breakbot is back! Soooo keen to share my favourite frenchie’s remix of Matthew Dear’s creepy-sexy track “You Put A Smell On Me” with you all.
Monsieur Breakbot has magicked away most of the dark dirtiness of the original (which is definitely worth a listen too) and made it all light and disco-y, as only he can do. Enjoy!

I heard this 5 hours into a long drive back to St Andrews last weekend. Driving on an empty road, in the half-light, through the Lake District. Just perfect.
Kenton Slash Demon are Danish and I think track really reflects a Nordic approach to electronic music that really appeals to me – especially at this time of the year.
The video, incidentally, is pretty beautiful too.

Caravan palace is essentially an electro French swing band that combines a variety of instrumental and vocal techniques with electronic ones. Let me start out by saying, I absolutely positively irrevocably hate the term “techno” that all friends back home use to refer to everything we civilized people here listen to. Electro is not techno. House is not techno. Dubstep is not techno. Drum n’ Bass is not techno. Yes, its all dancey, but Techno for everything that its given us, frankly, sucks.
For all of its fallacies, it will also always win. Every genre, eventually, becomes techno – and we like it anyway!
Dubtrance is becoming huge. Just look at Magnetic Man and Katy B. We’ll here’s the third nail in the electrostep coffin:
Enjoy your eulogy, dubstep, for you do not have long.

First, an apology: At SaintAndre.ws we strive to keep up to date as much as we possibly can. Unfortunately, we all are students and are subject to deadlines and busy periods throughout the year. Rest assured, though, we are back and we’re not going anywhere.
