Last week the Gucci Group announced they will keep the Alexander McQueen label going. Although some have argued that the McQueen’s show at AW Paris Fashion Week should be a memorial service commemorating the years of innovation McQueen gave the fashion world, Gucci has decided they will show his intended AW10 collection. I don’t know about that decision though, it all seems a little to rushed.

Wonderful. by Elise

I’m excited about Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland because it will surely be both an over the top extravaganza of the disturbing and creepy and an inspiration for all kinds of artistic endeavors. Clearly, Printemps in Paris (ridiculously fun if you ever have the change to shop there) thinks so too. The have commissioned Christopher Kane, Alexander McQueen, Martin Margiela, and Ann Demeulemeester to design a fanciful Alice themed window display to look out on the Paris streets during the opening of the movie and Paris Fashion Week this February. Well there’s simply no way Primtemps could have chosen more fitting designers, you’ve got girly Kane, do-whatever-I-want McQueen, moody Demeulemeester, and Margiela, “Fashion’s Invisible Man” (we couldn’t even find a good picture).

Plus the February opening of all of this just seems so ideal. We’re expecting a wonderfully macabre yet romantic creation from the four, maybe adding something of a new flavor to Valentine’s Day. I just hope one of them designs a lovely, ridiculous, extravagant little blue dress. Here’s a medley of some of the four designers looks which just make us super excited for all the freaky love Alice in Wonderland is sure to bring.
